What to Expect When the Inspectors Arrive at Your Door

Department of Health Phase 1 Inspections

               The Florida Department of Health is now making Phase 1 Pain Clinic Inspections

         based on SB 2272. Following are the items they will be checking during the inspection.

                1. Clinic registration

                2. Designated physician listed is as registered with the state

                3. Documentation of Physical Exam prior to prescribing

                4. Physician documents reason for prescribing more that 72 hours of meds

                5. Maintains prescription blanks in a secure location

                6. Uses tamper resistant RX pads/paper

                7. Notifies state if RX pads/paper have been stolen

                8. Designated physician practices at the clinic location

                9. Physician dispenses more that 72 hours of any controlled substances to self pay
                    patients.  (Violation if you do)

               10. Advertises the sale, use or dispensing of any controlled substance.

MSK Medicine Council Outstanding Service Award

Outstanding Council Service Award recipients will be recognized at the Annual Assembly at our Council business meeting on Friday, November 5, at 5:45 pm, and will be announced during the Forty-Second Walter J. Zeiter Lecture and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, November 6, at 11 am.
